Postpartum Depression:feeling low after delivery

I should be very happy with my bundle of joy but I am feeling very low. I am not interested in anything. I even do not feel like tending to the baby. why is this?

What are baby blues?
More than half of mothers after giving birth to a child usually suffer from temporary symptoms of depression. It is also called postpartum blues. These symptoms are mixed feelings of happiness, usually associated with all or a combination of irritability, tears, insomnia, and mood swings etc. Baby blues commonly referred term to postpartum depression (PPD) is related to pregnancy and childbirth.

you’re suffering from postpartum depression, there is no reason to feel guilty or ashamed. symptoms of postpartum depression are outside your control but the choice to get treatment is in your control. it’s important to seek help right away.

you are suffering from postpartum depression. It doesn’t mean that you’re a bad mother. but when you’re consumed with symptoms of depression such as fatigue, sadness and tearfulness, it is difficult to properly look after your newborn’s needs.
