Bowel and Bladder Movements:Constipation

My daughter has been highly constipated for the past 6 months. In fact it is so bad that I have often had to use a suppository to relieve her of the stools and of the pain. I went to many doctors and all of them told me that I should increase fibre in her diet and giver her lots of green leafy vegetables and fruits, and complteley stop all milk and milk products and baked goods. But despite having a complete control on her diet she would continue to be constipated. Then I went to Dr. Anand and he really worked a miracle. He put my daughter on a daily dose of perinorm tablets for a month and also some other medicine (forget the name), and it did WONDERS! Now it has been a year and she is ablsolutely fine. What I liked about Dr. Anand was that he took her problem SERIOUSLY and tried to cure it, while most other doctors would just keep saying that you control her diet. I am posting this message to help all the other mothers who are at their wits end trying to cure this problem.

Hi Swati, I am so happy to learn that I am not the only one going crazy with my son's constipation problem. I think I too need to find a doctor who takes constipation seriously and cures the problem once and for all.

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi there please be calm and relax as it happens sometime the child takes little time to start walking or crawling also but in your case the child should have started crawling if not walking.... - Anita [View Message]
