 hi my baby boy is 9 months old, he can grab stuff, play, cross his legs, roll,loves watching barney. he was born at 3.98kg and is now 8.6 kg, he does not crawl but thats ok, all i do is provide love and encouragement and he will do it when he is ready, im just enjoying carrying him. he loves to eat kitcheree(dhall& rice with carrots -cooked really soft, sometimes with bit of chicken)

 my aryamaan is a good heafty little boy. he completed 7 months. one of his megha laughter was on my way back to india. whilst the flight attendant demo the safety features, he would laugh with every movement of her. the first class section was all filled with laughter and the flight attendant was very kind to keep him during her free time. aryamaan is very jolly, has good potty training and has started crawling. he recognizes his papa's voice over phone and smiles.

 to grandma jo in the phillipines - don't worry!! i know babies who haven't walked until over a year & a half. everyone is different. a friend of mine had twins - one walked at 10 months & the other walked at 2 years - the late walker is now a scientist. so don't worry.

 to sandy from usa - don't worry!! it is normal. just make sure she gets lots of tummy time (see previous comment). this site is full of comments from parents who are so proud that their babies are "so advanced" and that's great. but, babies just shouldn't be compared to seemingly faster developers. parents have enough to worry about without comparing their little ones to others who are just more keen to get around. some people are just laid back - others just can't stay still. people just love to tell you when their baby is more advanced than their friends' babies - it's a humans' natural tendency to compete. so don't get caught up in thinking that yours is slow just because she isn't like some other babies.

 to deepa from india. just make sure your baby gets lots of "tummy time" and your baby's neck muscles should develop with time. make it fun & play with toys encouraging baby to look forwards, left & right. tummy time can be done from birth (during play only - not sleep) to encourage neck muscles to develop. but if you're baby is a little slower than others in that department - don't worry - just keep up the tummy time play & give positive encouragement & praise.

 to ghazala from india. she loves her dad and her mum!!!! so don't feel left out. is is hard to give advise when i don't know what the family dynamics are like but i can give you a few tips. i'm sure you're little one can't take her eyes off you when you're not looking & when dad comes home she is just as mesmorised with him - especially if she doesn't see him quite as much as she sees you - his time might seem like more quality fun with her as his time may be in small bursts. it's just that the rest of the day she's with you, she may be having fun too but from time to time she's probably gets tired & cranky as babies do! try not to have her awake for more than 2 hours at a time. (1&1/2 hours for under 6 month olds). have her go to sleep after being awake for 2 hours or when she shows tired signs - rubbing her face a lot, increased whinging, yawning etc. try & put her to bed for a snooze before these signs become too apparent. she will get up from her sleep when she is ready & hopefully nicely refreshed in time for some more fun. or when whe wakes up & you turn the light on or open the curtains, she may need some time to be with herself in her cot & will then let you know when she is ready for play. play it by ear. tummy time is often a good thing to start with when she isn't too tired - it will be more fun that way. you may notice she will sleep better during the night as well if she sleeps during the day (and doesn't allow herself to become too tired - it just gets harder when this happens). if you are stressed during the day or not getting much sleep - as a lot of new mothers can be (we all understand!!) it may be hard to have fun with your baby. if you are stressed or depressed or even generally worried about this or anything else, ask your midwife or doctor. have fun!

 to edville from: other some babies can get teeth as young as 4 months of age - others can get teeth at 12 months of age. each is normal. so don't worry if your baby has no teeth at 7 months. babies can have teeth pain & not have any teeth as well when the teeth are moving around inside the gums. signs of this may be excessive dribbling & irritibility. bonjella cream works a treat after the age of 4 months & so do teething rings designed to put in the fridge and give cold. even if there isn't any tooth pain, teething rings are a great toy for your bub to learn to grab onto and put in his/her mouth!!
