It looks very unpleasing and at the same time it increases the risk for many health problems also. Cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and diabetes can be the result of obesity, especially belly fat.

When a person is unable to burn the fat in the food he or she eats, it turns into belly fat. Also, sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical exercise gifts belly fat. Some of the causes of fat accumulation around the waist are over eating, bad food habits, stress and many more. The simplest formula is to check out what and how much you are eating and make a routine of exercising daily.

Yoga and Exercises to Reduce Belly Fat

Yoga asanas are very helpful in reducing belly fat. But along with this, you also need to take care of your diet. Yoga, Pranayamas and different asanas are extremely helpful. Practicing Yoga regularly will also help you to relax and stay away from stress. It will relax your body from inside and look after your overall health. 

Do not start too hard especially when you are not used to doing yoga asanas. Start with slow ones and then gradually increase to the ones that you can do well. Learning the right way of doing yoga is very important. Do not make any jerky movements in doing any yoga asana. Seek training from an experienced and professional yoga expert.

Yoga Asanas to Reduce Belly Fat

Have a quick look at the yoga asanas which are beneficial or reducing belly fat.

Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) – This asana has many benefits. It strengthens the core abdominal muscles and helps reduce belly fat. It tones up ovary, uterus and liver. It also helps regulate menstrual cycle and relieves back aches caused by over exertion. Apart from this the person gets rid of constipation and gas and finds improvement in digestion also.

Caution - Avoid performing this pose if you are suffering from hernia, peptic ulcer, hyperthyroidism or if you are pregnant. If you have a stiff back do not perform this yoga asana. 

Balasana (Child’s Pose) – Balasana stretches and massages the abdominal area and improves circulation. It helps in relaxation, relieving stress, stretching of the lower back, shoulders, arms and spine. Pregnant women and people suffering from knee injuries or diarrhea should avoid doing this.

Marjarasana (Cat Cow Pose) – This asana conditions the abdominal muscles and increases the flexibility of spine. It massages the inner organs and helps clear out emotional pressure.

Jathara Parivartanasana – This is one of the best exercises for stomach. It strengthens and tones up abdomen, alleviates lower back pain and relaxes spine and neck as well. Performing this yoga asana regularly restores balance of the nervous system and releases the tension of the spine.

Paad Pashchimottasana – This asana not only helps to reduce belly fat but also relieves gas from the stomach and increases appetite.

Uddiyanband Asana – This asanas massages and tones the internal organs of the abdominal area, improves blood circulation, relieves gas, constipation, indigestion, liver problem, helps lose belly fat and strengthens the abdominal muscles as well as takes care of the proper functioning of adrenal and sex glands.

The most important thing that you need here is making a firm decision. Program yourself mentally and set small and achievable targets first. Follow asanas and maintain a low fat and low carbohydrate diet to get better results.
