I give a thumbs down to contraceptive shots. They do not protect against venereal diseases. Side effects are many such as weight gain, irregular bleeding and nausea. The most serious side effect is loss of bone density. I think women should use this method with caution.

Though contraceptive injections have side effects but if used correctly, it is an effective method of birth control. This is safe, convenient and effective method for women. It has many health benefits also. A little care is needed while using this birth control.

One should be careful about using contraceptive injections. They have many serious side effects. The most important one being that the prolonged use results in loss of bone density. It should be avoided as a long term birth control method. I think some other methods of contraception would be more effective and safe.
