I am married for 10 yrs. I have been diagnoised to have mild endometrosis and now recently i had my glucose tolerance test done where my level is slightly high for which i am taking glucophage 500mg and asprin. We have plans to do IVF. I was put on Menogon inj but I did not respond well. I only had 3 follicles and so I was advised for IUI. we have plans to do IVF in my next cycle. Can you tell me about the diet habits before egg retrival and diet habits and other factors which is important after IVF.

Dear sa

Please don' t feel depress since you are going to have ivf soon. Being depress reduces your chances when going through ivf. I know it is easy saying than done but believe me I have had in your situation and still I am in (13 yr. of trying everything and still no baby). I myself feel quite depress time to time but than try to get my mind off by talking to my mom (who is my biggest strenght), watch tv, movie, go out, talk to friends (I mean do whatever can help you to take your mind off from this problem and please you). Your weight does not look abnormal to me and I have not heard any direct relation with insulin level and infertility (or having low overian reserve). Have faith in God. YOu sure will be blessed and go ahead with ivf. If you body cannot make more than 3-4 egg than I would suggest you to go with these egg only using ICSI so that you can maximize your chances of having a baby. Whatever egg you have is also precious since they carry your genetics. Ask your dr.reagding your insulin question. I am not sure which city and with which dr. you are getting your treatment done. Some people' s overies are more aged than there real age. As I said each person is differnt. I myself have low overian reserve and that is why i am not a candidate for ivf. Have faith in god. Go ahead with ivf and do what you can do to maximize your efforts. feel free to ask or share anything. I wish you all the best. take care dear

Dear Semi,
I really feel I can express my feelings to someone who can understand me. I am in sharja. This cycle I had to cancel the treatment as my Dr. has gone on holiday. Next cycle we will be trying. In my case nobody tries to understand my feelings, I think my husband understands me to some extent. He is very busy with his work that he hardly has time for me. I am all alone in the house. My mother does not seem to bother as she used to tell that you should not worry if you do not have kids and should enjoy the life as it come. She discourages and objects me from taking any treatment as my health will get spoiled. But my mother in-law is very keen to have a grandchild and always supports me to go in for IVF. Actaully i feel there is no one who can understand my feelings. I have tried hard and I am trying to manage all the tensions by my self. I really feel there are friends over here who can understand each other.
Bye

Dear friend.
How your body will respond to fertility injections and treatment is not directly related with diet. Of course we need to take care of our diet and take healthy and fresh food. Each person has different overian reserve. I have seen many people producing 15-20 egg at the age of 40 and some people just producing 3-4 egg at the age of 35. So it really varies. Your overian reserve is somewhat related with your age and your FSH level. Did you have your FSH level check? I also believe that your dr. is giving you higest dose of injections?
Having a Acupuncture is a art more than a science. The theory behind this is that, your mind feels pinch when they put needles all over your body and starts more blood circulation in body which in turn helps body to make more eggs. But there is no proven throry that it helps 100%. As I said it is a alternative medicine treatment. I have also heard that wheat grass juice helps having more egg. you may trying having it with(2 oz.) any other juice 2-3 times in a week. Hope it helps
Wish you all the best in your ivf. do write back how did it go.
good luck

Dear Semi and Tina,

Thanks a lot for taking time to reply me. There is no harmonal problem for me except for the insuline level. my weight is 67kg. I think it is not advisable to reduce my weight right now as we have plans to do IVF. I just want to know if my insuline level will get corrected if I reduce my weight. My IUI has turned out to be negative. I feel very depressed. I really do not know how to cope up with this situation.

Bye

Hi Sa,
I have similar kind of experience like you, means low ovarian response. I have found some diets for successful IVF. Before & during stimulation drink lots of water, min 2lits daily. Drink Milk at least a glass. Eat different nuts, pumpkin seeds, Orange (for folic Acid). Try to avoid Caffeine, Sugar. Blood sugar fluctuations sometimes affect your follicular growth. Try Honey with cinnamon. I did lot of research on diet. You can try Acupuncture also side by side. Try to be relax because that can help on your hormonal level. Best of luck.
