Hi Hetal, you have helped so many people hope you will reply to my query as well. My baby is 9 months old her current weight is 6.8 Kgs and her birth weight was 2.4 kgs, from past 2 weeks she has been passing motion after almost every feed (6-7 times) but the stool is not watery but at times the stool contains the particles of the food that she had eaten a meal before. Her current diet pattern is:

7:00 A.M. --Milk (Toned milk Mother Diary)- 180 ML.
10:- 10:30 A.M.-- 1- 1.5 mashed banana in milk.
1:30 P.M. --2 bowls of khichdi(rice+moongdal)and almost a bowl full of curd.
5:30 P.M. -- 6 Spoon full of Cerelac
7:30 P.M. -- If sleeping then 180 Ml milk again and then at 9:30 P.M. Boiled and mashed vegetables (ghiya, carrot, beet root)in daliya or else if she is awake then the same food at 8:30 P.M.
11:30 -- 180 ML milk
4:00-5:00A.M. At times she gets up to have milk 150-180 ML.
I asked her pediatrist over phone if this is an issue he said if the child is active and not cranky then it is fine he adviced to give her Vigilac for 2-3 days but there was no improvement in bowel movement. Then I went for her vaccination this staurday and he said her weight looks bit less so better go for a stool test which I got it done today I will get the reports in the evening. But in the mean time could you advice me something regarding this problem. One m ore thing she has not got a single tooth till now.

Thanks and Regards,
Ann

Subject:  same problem with my baby too

my 7mnth old all of a sudden for past three days is passing loose stools, 4-5 times a day (especially when i' m breastfeeding him) ... in my son' s case one of his tooth is visible though .... but then there is one more incident which i think is the culprit .... just a day before his loose motions started on the occasion of diwali, my relatives fed him a liitle of ' son papdi' (sweet) and 2-3 other sweets (but in minute quantites though) ... loose stools followed just after this, so i' m worried if it was bcoz of what he ate or bcoz of teething ..me really confused ....

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
