Planning a Baby  Discussion Forum

I know i should not be posting such things here, instead of giving encouragement to everyone I am here with my problems. I really don' t know what to do. Am already 38 yrs reaching 39 and feel hopeless and lonely. Everywhere I see kids feel so helpless. Feel I am not even capable of giving my parents this much happiness in their oldage. Have tried every treatment but not succeeded. When I see people like Farah Khan etc delivering after 40 too I feel there is hope for me too. Stay away from India and when I see all in office,everywhere talking about their kids and their schools just keep quite and keep to myself. Our neighbours baby used to keep coming always and we used to give all our love to the baby and the baby too loves us a lot but her Dad doesn' t like the baby to mingle much with everyone and has told the Baby and the mother to be in the room itself. I feel like crying when thinking what the baby must be doing all alone in the room and cry a lot. I do not have the courage to go for adoption too. Feel I am a hopeless case. I can feel your pain since I am in same boat and same age. Tried every thing but nothing worked out for us. we fall into unexplained infertility. Not sure what your medical history is and what all you have tried? You may consider IVF or any donor egg/sperm (depending upon your problem) to conceive a child. Do write back if you have any question.
thanks, semi sa replied. Dont get stressed, actually I do not know if I can tell anyone as I am also feeling the same way. God has blessed us and he is kind enough to bless us with kids. But we must prepare our mind to face the truth. I am sure we are in a position to give love and affection to a child then why not. It is not so easy but instead of torturing ourself I think it is better we go for adoption. Adoption is also not so easy these days, the sooner the better.

Don´ t despair. We too went through long months of TTC- but in the end it happened naturally. I am not saying that you should shun medical advice- but don´ t be all stressed about it. If it happens- well & good. If it doesn´ t DO look at options like adoption. I think a baby is a beautiful gift from God- irrespective whether it is yours biologically or not. If you feel such strong sentiments towards your neighbour´ s child- why not an adopted one?
Despite having a child of our own- we plan to adopt one this year. I can understand the longing to experience motherhood- but I would think its better to consider the adoption option as well. Before you feel you are too old for that too and miss out on the motherhood experience alltogether.

Just my view of the world I guess :-)!!
