hi there,
we' ve been trying for a a baby since last year.and now my periods got delayed and took 3 home pregnancy tests all showed positive results..im on my 33rd day..i used to get periods every 27 or 28 days..since this is my first pregnancy im a lot worried abt every little changes in my body..i dont like to even walk around as i feel little pressure and my back hurts a lot..i have this severe lower back pain like the one i used to have on my periods.is this normal?can someone tell me abt the precautions to take during the very early stages?and when do u think is the right time to fix up an appointment with a doctor.because we talked with several doctor offices and nobody is giving an appointment before oct 20 as they feel it wud be too early..thanks in advance..

hi siya,Dd,sudha,radha..
thanks a lot for ur immediate replies.i live in US..i called up several doctor offices to fix up an appointment..first they ask about my last periods and then abt several symptoms of miscarriage.i dont have those symptoms so they told me that it is not a high risk pregnancy. the earliest appointment i have with me is on oct 23rd.this period is really driving me crazy since i cud not get advices from doctors..but ur replies helped me a lot..now i feel a lot better..once again thank u so much for ur replies.

Hey Mittu,

Congratulations!!! You must be walking around with a huge grin on your face, all the best to you and your hubby. Well, I have to say you have received excellent advice. It is important to get yourself off to the doc and begin receiving care. My only advice to you is to jump on over to the expecting parents forum... You will find plenty of women at the same stage as you with similar symptoms which will help to set your mind at ease. Mind you at day 33 you might even be the first poster in the forum, that has GOT to be good luck... LOL... Congratulations on the tremendous news of your pregnancy!

i forgot to mention it yes lower back pain is common ..it will be there at the begining of everysemister now u cant exercise try some hot water packs and may be light massge with some balms..this pain happens because the uterus is now expanding as the foetus is now though v minute is growing at an alarming stage ... ur body is now getting adjsuted to this new change.. ligaments , muscles all are geting stretche now ... so when ur doc gives u a green signal to exercise do pelvic exercises ,mild stretching u will reap the benefit later and never ever stop walking ...
happy preg

it seems ur not in India but yes thsi is the right time and it is said fix up a date as soon as u get a positive line the doc will update u regarding all as far as what i was said not to travel in 1st semister where u might b expecting jerks, donot live heavy articles ,if ur into exercising donot do the usual workouts but stick to walking only , dont eat anything u get to eat eat sensibly and donot eat raw papaya as papay contains high amount of pectin which might dilodge the ovum as u know when cooking mutton indiand put in raw papya which help it to make soft ...the same thing might happen to the human body spcly whne there is a growing life ... some may say it is islly but upto u ..i never ate raw papaya during my preg...
well thats it and dont go overboard ..drink plenty of water and be happy
i feel so happy whwn ever i see positive preg and the joy of the parent and their anxiety ..but all will be good
take care
