Subject:  India milk

A number of my friends who are settled in US complain the same thing when they come to India. One of them when came to India once, simply did not give any India packet milk to her baby. For 2m, her kid was without milk. Infact, he was without much food options. She geadually trained the baby' s stomach to accept indian food. She had got Gerber food, and something more. She would give that, and started with 1 india food to get the toddler' s stomach accustomed.
So, all the baby was having was - US food and home made sabji roti. Soon he was set with sabji roti. Then she moved to other safe foods BUT never gave him packet milk.

Thus, one by one she got the baby accustomed to quite a lot India foods. Till then, she would go to stores where US products wre available - like Gerber food, peanut butter, cheerios, etc (it was a toddler not baby). She also got the kid first accustomed to Nan2 and Cerelac from india which are safer options.
Though the foods were meant for babies, she was giving it to the toddler, as it was nutritious and safe.

Thus after 6-7m when the kid was well adjusted, she introduced him to Nestle Slim Milk (tera pack one) but not to normal dairy packet milk.

Then after that, she trained him to regular packet milk.

She has been supplementing kid with vitamin/calcium as subscribed by US pediatrician.

See if this suits you. Please take decisons carefully as it is a matter of passing right nutrition to the kid.

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
