hi,
IUI - the procedure is mostly on the 3rd or 5th day of ur periods u will be asked to take clomid tablets for 5 days and then form the 10th day u will have to go for follicular monitoring, this is ultrasound scan and almost every day u will have to go or maybe altenrate days also, the doctor will be on the lookout for a particular size of ur ovum, when it reaches a particular size u will be given HCG injection, this will help in controlled bursting of the follicle, mostly within 48 hrs of giving the injection the follicle will burst and u wiil have to see on which side of th e uterus the follicle is present, u will have to then go to ur gyne, and they will ask ur husband to collect semen and then they will clean it thro a procedure and seperate the good ones and collect it in a thin tube and give it, this ur gyne will insert into ur vagina onto the side where ur follicle has bursted. there is no anesthesia given for it is not tht painful, sligtly uncomfortable that' s all. this is the basic procedure and it might chage according to ur conditions and ur gyne, some people will have 2 inj... this is wht i undewent, they usually say chances of getting pregnant after the 1st iui is high. dont loose hope and all the best. hope i have clarified ur doubt. if anyhting else u want i will be glad to help u out.
bye

hey!!
Thanks a lot for the advice..I have been given HCG injection and was told that this is for bursting of the egg.. so this was given to me yesterday, i.e 5th of Aug at 10:30 am and you tell me that it will burst after 48 hours.. So my IUI is scheduled on 7th Aug at 10 am. Is this the right time? Is the timing ok? There are two follicles that are seen? Does this mean there are two eggs?? Or is this the general thing that there will be two follicles. By the way, my HCG was for 10,000 mg and the doc who gave me the injection told me that 10,000 is too high. Is this ok? Please answer ALL my questions... please..
