i am from england and i am suffering from the same thing(PCOS), i am so worried about all this i ahve done all the treament as some of u guys has said, now i willbe going through the ivf , but i am to sacred to find out that it has not worked, plz guys can u give me as much support as u can.

i have been trying for 5 years, and its very hard to live with out a child, now i will be going to india to visit in-laws, but worried that people will be asking me why i dont havea a child, i can not face all this.

I have PCOS too and understand the innumerable question that one can have, here is what I and understood

- to begin with my insulin level was really high, so was put on Metaformin 1000 mg/day
- First level of treatment for infertility is CC
This is started Day 3 of the cycle, the dosage could vary from 50-150 mg, I started with 1000. Upto Day 7
U' ll be asked to go for a Follicular scan from day 8 onwards- every 2/3 day
Basically they monitor the development of the follicles so that you time the intercourse
This is treatment is tried for not more than 4-5 cycles with varing dosage of CC

- the next level is gonodothrophin inj
Before the treatment is started, they' ll ask u to go for a HSG, which is checking on the tube' s potency
Once confirmed that the tubes are good, u' ll be asked to come on the day 2 of the cycle when a routine scan is done to monitor the condition before any medication
u' ll be put on CC tabs from day 2-6
However this will be supplimented by HMG inj on day 5, 7 ( dosage could be 75iu/150iu)
One will be asked to go for a scan on day 7, the monitering and the inj will continue until goog size of follicles develop
After the follicles grow to a size of 18X18mm, an inj to induce ovulation is given
After the shot ovulation is expected within 24-36 hrs
One will be adviced to time the intercoarse or go in for IUI (artificial insemenation)
Well I have reached this stage as of now, will keep u posted about the further step


Niki replied. I too have pcod and m 4 weeks pregnant. Though i takes little more time then others but u would suely conceive. I got iuis done and m very happy now. ms replied. hi u can find a good dr in chennai for pcod...dr murthy will treat u for pcod nw im in states have a beautiful baby..i had a treatment.first u meet him..he will undergo harmone analysis..dont worry u have fruitful results.. rene replied. u havent mentioned ur age and how long u' ve been TTC..
with policystic ovaries,the major hindrance is either not being able to ovulate or not being able to ascertain the time of ovulation......but now help is available medically for both.....with routined ultrasound scans doctors tell u the time of ovulation and also they put you on drugs to make sure you ovulate........you have bright chances of conception with IUI if you respond well to drugs.......dont worry....then one always has the last option of IVF if IUI' s fail........so cheer up and good luck.
