Hi Swati, give some time to your kid he will be fine with time. Do not force him or keep questioning him on regular basis it will give him tension and pull him into depression within no time.

Even i was very shy in my school days. I used to talk normally with everyone at home but i used to be a lil quite in the school but in 10th std i made more friends and got comfortable with them and then started talking.

Many parents are worried saying their kids are shy and they do not open up but parents need to understand that every kid is different and their way of mixing up and the time they take to make friends is different from others.

A lot of kids take much longer than other kids to mix up with everyone but i think it is normal. Just give him some time and let him make friends on his own and once he makes friends is will eventually open up.

Try to help him mix up with other children in your society or the ones that live near you or ask the teacher for some help. There are psychologists available in schools to help the students in such situations too.

Hi Swati,
He is just 4 years old and you have to be with him by giving moral support and he might got feared so that he may not talk try to make him feel free in school so that you would not face any problem from him.

Hello Swati,
First try to find out whether the problem lies in school/class. Ask his teacher to support you in this issue, request her to find out if anything is wrong in his class. If this continues then try to change his school, as new environment and new friends might help your kid to change his behavior.
