Hi

I need advice on what fruits ( and in what form) can I offer to my 8 and half months old daughter.
Presently she eats mashed banana and boiled/pureed apple. But she hates eating the apple.
Also I need advice on starting suji ki kheer for her.
All your suggestions will be highly valuable.

Warm Regards
Neha

Hi Neha,

Try making the suji kheer of very thin consistency, almost like water. If she likes it she might even stop gagging on it :)

One more thing. Try not to boil any of her fruits or vegetables. Steam them or bake them in the oven. Cause you lose out on the nutrients if u boil the food.

And you can also give mashed potatoes with cheese and milk.
This is how i make it and my son loves it-
Bake the potatoe in the oven with the skin on. The scoop out the potatoe and in a fry pan, add little butter, throw in the potatoes little cheddar cheese, and milk (to make it a slightly thin consistency), and just mix these things together and serve.

HI Neha,

At 8 months my son was eating steamed/mashed pears, mangoes (MASHED), melon(MASHED), sometimes grapes without skin and seed and oranges. But go slow with the citrus fruits.

For the suji kheer you an start with that aslo. You can also give him suji upma with vegetables , rice kheer.

You can also give him dalia- sweet with gur or fruits- my son really likes it with the fruits in it. I usually just add apples and pears.
Or you can prepare the dalia with vegetables and a little salt.

Hope this helps.
Ofcourse take it slow and look out for any discomfort in your baby.

Good luck

Hi

Thanks for your suggestions.
I am facing another problem with my daughter.
I tried giving her suji kheer but she is simply not able to swallow any granular thing in her food. She vomits out everything.
Even the khichdi or dal I make her eat is finely mashed and strained. So I am in a fix as to how to start with suji/dalia for her.

Regards
Neha
