Hi,
My daughter is 7 months old now and she is not interested in any solid food. She would tightly seal her lips when we try to feed her. I have tried everything - rice cereal, banana, apple sauce, oatmeal cereal, khichdi etc. Initially(like when she was 6 months) she used to take 2-3 bites but now she has stopped even this. Her milk intake is also very less so I am very much worried. She is not getting all nutrients in her diet and she is underweight also. Has anyone faced similar situation and what to do to make her eat?
Can I give her finger food? Oh yes, she has starte teething - got 2 lower teeths.

Please let me know what to do to make her eat.

I dont think shes too big for solid food.. You can try raji(nachni kheer and all types of kheer)semi solid. I started my daughter with kichdi(rice and dal) at 9 months that too i used to give her mashed.(mixer made)... May be as mentioned teething would also be a reason... But dont go fast on cereals... There are so many good homely foods that you can try at this age..1) daliya(mashed wheat-)...fry it on oil/ghee and then mix in water and milk( small amount). My daughter used to eat 3-4 times...semi solids ( one katori)

Kranti X2 replied. My baby is also like this sometimes...what I do then is keep some cooked peas, corn and crackers in front of her (in her high chair)...and then start to eat in front of her...she watches me and then most often than not, she' ll start eating herself...

sometimes I give her a cracker and then when she opens her mouth to eat it, I' ll quickly pop in a spoonful of food..if she likes it and is hungry, she' ll open her mouth after that..

however i noticed that my 7 month old daughter likes warm food..and if i give it cold she will seal her lips..same with milk also.
Also i started adding apple sauce/prunes/bananas to the formula..to make like milk shake consistency...she really loved it..
with cereals..even my baby wasnt intrested..so i mix rice cereal with vegetables and give..
i know its not great help..but i can feel for u..also noticed that when i relax a little she feeds better :)
how much does she weigh?
