hi hetal.....i' ve registered with indiaparenting recently & most of the topics seen ur name on board,,,,,so i too hv a qt regarding my 15 mnths old son.he has this itchy skin(red &oozy) all the time most of it near his elbow ,,,v r living in taiwan & the weather out here is just unpredictable.my pd says its normal.i' ve tried elomet & cutivate but that thing just reoccurs,,,,after some intervals do u think its some kind of food allergy or wht?like i hv seen this all thru these 15 mnths. his birth place is taiwan do u think the climate or food or wht?intially v suspected formula milk but now i' ve already started fresh milk its still on .i also apply him mustella cream for etopic regularly.......pls.help.... sonia replied. hi ! pinky, wanted to add some tips here ! it seems your baby has mild eczema, my baby also had it and went really bad and then i tried couple of things and finally it' s gone. see it could be in the family also, then it could be the clothes, the detergent, food and lot more things. if u' re really concerned then an allergy test seems appropriate but by the way u' re mentioning doesn' t seem that bad. look steroid cream only work on the surface and it goes away and then comes back again. so keep a close watch as to what triggers it and what makes it worse. allergy, eczema and asthma r all inter-related. i know so much becoz my elder one had asthma and younger one had eczema. it' s good to have in on the skin then in the lungs. so don' t be worried. don' t bathe the baby with soap every single day. will make it only worse. steroids also thin the skin slowly so sun screen is a must i feel. use eucerene original cream plenty times a day to keep the skin moist. and u can use cetaphil soap for bathing. when u keep a close watch on the patches u' ll learn more. i am a strong beliver of ayurveda so i found coconut oil + aloe vera mix really working for eczema. i have forgotten the quantity for each. but both r otherwise harmless ! so u can try. any thing that works. all the best ! nandini replied. Hi pinky......i m not hetal....but i just wanted to help u.My baby is having this problem since 5 to 6 months..shez 10 months now...her paed said its mild eczma..so she asked me to use less soap n AQUAPHOR moisturizer. and for the red parts or specialy itchy part...i m using CORTIZONE 1 PERSENT HYDROCORTISONE.
I dont know wehter its the same thing wid ur baby.....just check wid his doc.i hope it helps u.
