My 6 weeks old has come home last week aftter 22 days in hospital as she had RSV & other infection, She ccant feed herself like a healthy baby. I am geting very upset with this. As a temperory measure we have NG tube& whatever she doesnt feed by mouth i put in NG tube. I was hoping it will improve after coming home but it has not & i want real help.....Tips, prayers, techniques....whatever works...... She is sucking very well...... She canm swallow well & the milk stays in her tummy 7 she ccan tolerate it too. she seems to be liking the taste too. But in 1 hour she care barely take 1 ounce or 1 1/2 ounce of milk. I burp her every time she needs to & she also doent have gas..... Today i plan to buy all the worlds best nipples too. & try with each one..... she isnt that good at breast too & since her weight gain is a problem she has to take Neosure so a bottle is a must....Doint know what to do. bhavi replied. hi,
I had a premie bsby ,and my baby was also in hospital for 20 days,after I came home he could not tolerate too much of milk at a time , so I used to feed him every hour, even I use to give him neosure , if your baby is not good at breastfeeding , I advice u to take a breastpump , because your milk is very impt for him. I use to mix neosure in breast milk and give. but taste it some babies don't like it.
after feeding put him in the car seat
to sleep , so that his milk will get digested well.
don't worry my baby is 10 month old and doing preety good. Its just a phase it will pass soon.

I am really sorry for your problem. Where do you stay? Is it that ur baby cannot suck well on the nipple of the bottle? Then u can try onething... try to feed her milk with spoon ( rounded and small size so that it wont hurt her delicate mouth). I had bottle fed my daughter from birth bcoz of shortage of milk .. but all my doctors said NOT to bottle feed her , instead if u cannot at all bf her then atleast feed her with stainless steel spoon and bowl. It seems that these things cause much less infection than bottle. And also ur baby will not have to suck on the nipple. Just make sure that the head of your baby is in a slightly elevated position than her body.. never feed her while she is lying down horizontal.
