My son is now 1 yr 8 months old. He has just started eating Rice as it is... but he refuses to chew and eat roti with any vegetable. Till last month I used the mixer and made a fine paste of Roti + Vegetable / Roti+Milk .... But now I am really worried...

He has got teeth, but refuses to swallow roti... he will chew and spit it once the taste is gone...

please give me some ideas.

Hi Anuradha and R:

Thanks for your suggestions. I have started giving him boiled vegs. he too has started eating them... I just used a game and showed him how to swallow...

He observed for some time and then tried doing it... 2 times did not get it...but the 3rd time when he swallowed it, I said \";Hurrey!!! and he too started sayign \";yech yech\"; in his language...he was so happy!!!\";

Donot grind food any more. Try giving him Boiled Vegetables ( carrot , pumpkin , peas , beans ,sweet potato) along with some salt . Then u try giving him rice / small pieces of fruits.

hi sayali,

i am having 22 months old daughter,she also use to do same thing (chewing the food and spiting it after some time)
from now onwards don't paste the roti&vege .keep giving food as it is ...
for 2 to 3 days he may trouble u in taking food,but still u don't mixer food.after that he starts chewing food.i did the same with my daughter.now she is taking food properly.
