Hi Kanaka,
my daughter is now 6 months old and she has this problem since she was 3 months old.I went to gastroenterologist and he asked me to stay away from milk, wheat, soy, fish and egg.so I am following it.I would like to know what you did. What did you do?Please tellme.I am living in usa and planning to go back to India permanently if the problem resolves in India. Thanks in advance.

ruby is quite right,if your child is suffferng from constipatn, its quite likely that he will show streaks of blood in poop, but if and only if the poop is very dry and has streaks of blood...
at 3months, no fibr diet can be suggested,,,the only thing that can help you, is visiting the dr..sometimes the streaks of blood are the sign of :
1. body heat triggerd by some hot foods taken by mother during breastfeeding..so balance your diet with lots of dairy and juices...
2. could be prelimnry sign for stomach flu or infection,,,,3months just the right candidate.
3. like said before,,mild constipatn but for that consistency of bowels will be very dry and the streaks are more like on edges of the poop thn being part of it !
4. if the stool is pasty or is of normal colour and the streaks of blood are seen,,,you must see your dr...
thats all the pssbilties and all leads to showing the diaper to your dr...the best to do.
good luck

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi there please be calm and relax as it happens sometime the child takes little time to start walking or crawling also but in your case the child should have started crawling if not walking.... - Anita [View Message]
