My 9 yr old daughter always has cold and cough problems. When she has cold, she also gets pain in her tonsils. Her tonsils get swollen and she is unable to have food. The doctor told me he has to remove the tonsils but I am so worried. I do not want her to have this surgery. What should I do? rajiv replied. hello pihu,

Generally tonsils will come when do we have some allergies, find out on which she is taking the problem then after some years you can do operation for her because once tonsils has occurred it will never go. sneha replied. she must be having some kind of alergy. my friend also have same problem but not with the tonsils she has a dust allergy so she always ahve cold throughout the year. you should keep away her from cold water banana and anything cold like ice creams and cold drinks. my brother had tonsils problem he took ayurvedic medicines and he is fine now and can have ice creams and cold drinks like any other kids Stutee Saini replied. HI Pihu! Tonsilitis isnt a major procedure and many children get it removed. Children are more resilient that you think. Go for another opinion and if that also concurrs, get it done at the best hospital possible. It will help her a great deal if you get it removed. I had mine removed when I was eleven!
