Bowel and Bladder Movements:constipation 3 month old daughter

Hi,

My daughter is having constipation from last one month.when ever we give juice or gripe water then only she is passing stool.I'm really consurned about giving juice at this young age.
plz advaise me.what to do for her constipation?

hi,
my son is 3 mnths old & he too passes stool every 3-4 days. i talked to the doc & she tells that breast milk is easily digested & there is very little residue left . so if the child does not pass hard stools or does not cry while passing them then it is fine.
remember this is applicable only for an exclusively breast fed baby

Pls try and apply vasaline around the anus and cycle the legs ...this might help her. if u are breast feeding drink plenty of fluids especially water.

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits.
