hi all ladies
well there are so much of pros and cons for everything.
1. about boiling sippers...i still dont thinkthere is any harm boiling and sterilising the sippers well why i do that becoz my daughter like to drink strawberry milk from it and if i dont boil it then strawberry milk's smell doesn't go .

2. why i boil feeding bottle ..well i think if i dont boil it then some whitelining comes and for that may be some will say i dont use a good brand i use nuke bottle and peigeon bottle. and if i boil it then it becomes clean and clear.

3. about anti worms when i was in korea i never used it jarurat nahin padi.. but when i went back to india( delhi my daughter use t play out with her cousins she was 1.5yrs that time it is joint family and i cant be after her all the time so all kids use to play in park in the house) she use to eat mud also ..sometimes so may be by that she got worms i went to pedac there the THE DOCTOR said antiwrms shud be given to kids every 6mnths so that kids do not get the worms again.
its not my idea of giving anti worms any ways about all medicines ppl consult doctors first.

about that kali mirch smoke i have written about that also i will type it again.
first of all when ever i do this nazar utarna process i never take that smoke near to the baby.. i and many of my frnds and relatives do this ,they take any mirch either dry red or black pepper some mustard seeds and ltl salt wrap it in a paper go to the baby and touch the head of baby and come down then touch the feet of baby keep saying names of ppl meet baby slowly slowly and when all names finish
i simply go to the kitchen put that whole thing on that burner and burn it. i never said go near the baby ,and take that somkenear baby or roam in full house.
so no question of choking baby as i do burning process in kitchen and the baby remains in bed room.

so i m not at all suggesting anything wrong

about the balck and white stuff in potty ...so what was wrong if i asked to watch it carefully becoz i have seen those small white worms in my sis-in -laws's son potty thats why i asked .

if anything else plz do tell me its nice i m not saying i m anyteacher or something i m also here to learn like any other

only for your information, honey is not recommended for babies till 1 yr. i remember reading that in one of your posts so just want to make u aware of the same. hope u dont give it to ur baby if she is less that 1 yr. doesnt matter replied. Good u made these points clear!

I was in delhi too! my doc also suggested deworming for the same reason as yours, my son used to play at different places and i m a working person and so he had worms. The doc told me to do de-worming periodically.

i too used to boil bottles for the reason that my maid fed baby with bottle as i joined work when baby was 3m. Leaving baby with maid an supervising by MIL was already known to me so the decision to boil bottles was already taken. My MIL who was a working person also said same, she used to boil bottles for both her babies. And when i asked my doc telling about the situation, she said u better boil it.

Not only that, i even used to change nipples every month and get new ones.

Still my first kid suffered stomach infection, its a long story, but at the end of it we had to change the maid and continue boiling and changing nipples.

We even used to boil baby's katori and spoons.

After baby was 3mold i gradually train the kid to normal washing. like first put bottles in boiling water and putdown the container, do not sterilise for long. Then later, i just put them with hot water after proper cleaning.

For the nazar process, u r right again. My mother used to do it for me. my mil does it for my kids. Now she is old so she asks me to do it and i do it only for her happiness though i dont believe in it.

Everything u said, i had guessed it already. We generally write in hurry, or even if nt hurry we dont write long stories so cut matter short hoping people will use their own judgement and contact doctor and ignore suggestion of seems incorrect.

May be i knew abt all these things and there are new moms who dont know and have no elders around. I also live in usa now. So i read about things like this on internet and so many things discussed here are available on baby sites and other sites as well.

For mothers who dont know about things as they are new moms and no elders around -- I also did not know about sippy cups in india, i came to know abt them late after my second baby and i did not sterilise them. But when ruchika suggested to sterilise them, i was neither shocked nor surprised.
What i felt after reading that was - her home conditins may not be so hyginic like mine, or may be she has been boiling them always for her baby, or may be she has her own different reasons to boil it, whatever. But i did not bother you to question you back. Things are fine with my baby wih unsterilised sipper so why worry? If it had really bothered me, i wd hv checked with my doc, he doesnt ask me to pay for receiving a phone-call.
