Bowel and Bladder Movements:Please advise - Potty training

Dear Mom's,

I need some advice or pointers on how to train my 14 months old girl on potty training.
Her bowel movements are regular mostly in early mornings. Sometimes the cycle changes to nights. She wakes up and immly starts trying to pass motions. However if I make her sit across my legs or potty she starts getting up and forgets about the motions!!! She wants to stand or rests her stomach on some support. but she is against sitting on potty. Please advise.

There are many methods to potty training. Honestly the best way is to slowly introduce her to her own potty chair. Let her play with it and get use to it first. If you rush to quickly or force anything on her, she will not be as willing to learn. Let her decide when she is ready, and then slowly work with that. In the end she will eventually learn to use the potty chair, and it will be less of a hassle for you to have to fight her to use it.

At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]

Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
