Hi Friends,

we are trying to conceive since quite long time.today i asked my nurse how ivf is done in US.she told me that if u have ivf in dec06 then in nov i have to birth control pills to suppress ovulation which will be neccassary for ivf cycle cause u shouldnt ovulate in dec.u will ovulate with the help of injectibles.i was shocked to hear about OTC .has anybody done ivf in US?
did u take OTC pills one month before ivf.i never heard of this thing and is very much confused.what if i dont take OTC pills and go for ivf directly?will there be any problem?
please help me .

for your wise suggestion.i am trying to get all information before thinking of going thur ivf.its always better to be alert.one of my friend in mumbai went for ivf 3 cycles without any success.she told me that u suffer mentally and physically all thru out cycle.
we will try our best and rest i will leave in god s hand.he will bless us with the child when the time will come.

thank u so much for your reply.frankly i hate to take OTC pills.it will be better if ivf is started immediately.
did u have to take it OTC pills?
i wanted to ask u if first ivf cycle fails then will they start with 2nd ivf immediately in next month or there is any waiting period?
were there any side effects?

komal annie replied. yes, otc drugs are given before they start ivf. its called down regulation. alternately they may start with some injections in the previous cycle. manya times they will start direct ivf. there are different protocols which they follow. depending on how ur body responds, they will follow that protocol. but generally yes, they do prescribe otc the previous cycle. also, pls google for info on ivf. its better to stay informed as we keep gettign these kinds of shocks! good luck dear.
