Hi,

I have finished 3 cycles on Letrazol with Timed Intercourse but with no sucess. I have got my periods today. My dr. advised last month that she would plan for IUI next. Tomorrow is my appointment with my dr and there are many chances she will ask for IUI. My problem is I am not sure about the Emotional feelings of undergoing IUI. As of now, i feel that the intimacy would be reduced. To be very frank, in IUI my hubby is supposed to ejaculate his semen in a small cup or something, so for this he would be using his laptop to watch some clips to sedate him and take his semen out. Previously he had done like this twice in Clinic for testing his Semen Sample. Those times i dint feel bad as it was for testing. But this time itz going to be for my Pregnancy. So if he takes the sample this way, i feel that the Kid is conceived by me bt my hubby was thinking of something else when he gives the Sperm. This is bit disturbing for me. Am sure that not many would be feeling this way, but am slightly worried of this attittude of mine. Am i right?? Do many people feel the same way or do other guys take semen out using their wife??? Pls explain.

Also can i take 1 more chance of timed intercourse this time also. Is that ok?.

Pls reply at the earliest as i need to meet my dr tomorrow.

good luck for this time. i'll pray that t will workout +ve this time. keep pillow before itself. its much convenient. annie replied. hi, my exp with dr. gunasheela was a very good one. i don't know why, but she took a real interest in my case as it was quite a challenging one. ya, the wait was a long one, but thats common every where i guess.there will be so many patients, the doctors will also be hard pressed for time. i used to keep my queries as short as possible & not consume much of their time, at the same time clarify my doubts.may be i had been ttc for such a long time, i knew quite a lot abt treatment stuff :))) also i used to spend a lot of time reading on the net too(iam a houseiwfe).during my pregnancy they took lot of care as they really wanted this to happen. ya, i've heard many people not being happy abt the long wait, but its a small price to pay for such a big gain! i've heard that dr. madhuri patil is also good. my friend has been suggested her name for treatment. good luck to you. dolly replied. If you are going to try to concieve naturally again,after intercourse put a pillow under your hips (while lying down) and remain in the position for 1/2 hour or 45 minutes.Have you tried this? I have polycystic ovaries so for me to concieve was also a little problematic, but as soon as i made the decision to get pregnant i tried this method 3 or 4 times and it worked.

i have been there and felt that ..my husband used to however collect it at home , so we used to try to do it in a big condom and then transfer the contents(though it did nto work out well always ..) ..

but i agree with Annie , as u go ahead with the treatments , these take a rear seat annd having ur baby becomes all the more improtant ...

there have been babies out of semen donors , egg donation, surrogate mothers and all these babies have been loved equally or maybe even more( bcoz of all the trouble they have underwnet) by the respective mothers ...

so be positive and i am sure things will work ur way ..

-P annie replied. hello vidhu, i can inderstand ur feelings. just check with ur doctor if u can be indside the collection room with ur hubby when he is collecting semen sample. many clinics allow this. also one has to look at the end result,ie to have a baby of your own. since u r new to infertility treatment such feelings are common.but whichever way its conceived,it will be YOUR baby only. trust me once you hold your baby in your arms, all such feelings will be forgotten. i have a 6mt old son who was born thru ivf. now just lookng at him, i can't remember what i felt or went thru to get him. so have faith in GOD & go ahead. all of us feel, can't we just try once more before \";formally\"; starting treatment :-) its like the feeling just before a novice diving into the pool.once you are in the water u will adjust to it. you will meet other ladies during the course of treatment.talk to them, but don't take negative things into your heart coz staying positive is the name of this game. i will also pray that u will concieve before starting iui. good luck dear.
