thanx a lot hetal for ur helping tips.
I have started her on 3%milk and that has helped on her appetite for solids.
she is eating better for last two days.
Shud i cont. wid this or wont it make any diff, on her fat intake i have switched over from full cream milk to toned.
Anyways our fights on food r much reduced.touchwood.:) I have not tried nething new since u tld me not to try them while she has cold. Pl keep sending more tips whenever u can on how to increase her appetite.
Even when she is hungry she will not simply eat.... I have to distract her either to her toys or to some friends or play peek a boo ... at times i have to take her to neighbours house to change the place & then she eats....I m tired of all this. I m sure u can tackle this too. Pl write back.

Hetal replied. if your baby is above 15months, you dont have to worry much about her fat levels,,thn its the calcium that is actually required. calcium doesnt vary acc to fat levels in cows milk.the percentage of milk refers to % of fat by wght that milk contains,,like 2% milk is often ref as reduced fat milk since it contains less fat thn the whole milk,,which has 3.5% fat !! just 1.5% of differnce,,well,if thats what makes her eat meals on time,,it just means that your child is ready for low fat milk ! its her natural body makeup that asks for low fat milk,,you dont want your child to stick to full fat milk and go on liquid diet !! its all about solids and they have to learn to eat,,our work is just to balance thr diet to make sure they eat all that they deserve !!!!
you are already offerng him healthy alternatives to dairy fat, like cheese, other calcium and fat alternatives in vegies, fruits, grains and dals,,and it will replace the required fat levels easily.
continue with this,,and whenver you think that she didnt take her meal nicely,,,let the next feed of milk be the full fat cows milk or whole milk,,add in ne milk additive if she didnt eat her meals..as milk additives have so many good nutrients,,if the child didnt eat properly,,it will dirctly replace the requirements.not to mention,,if you are giving malt based or milk solid based ones thn she is gettng a full meal in that milk additive with milk ! !! hope you got the idea behind it...
once a while when you think she seems to be fine and done with teething issues and other health problems,,start her on whole milk,,keep switching whenever required !
and make sure the gap between meals and that of milk is around 3-4hours(above 1 year only),,so that she eats well !
rest all fussiness about eatin,,all accepted anu :) welcome to toddler tantrums ! if it was so easy for moms to make thr kids eats,,moms wouldnt have got white hair so soon :)
just keep trying,,offer varieties, colours, make it interestng with funny shapes, and let her eat on her own,,she has to learn some day too,,how long you will run aftr her to make her eat !!! let her fill her stomach on her own....just the right time.
take care.
