Dear Hetal
My baby is 7 weeks old. Till end of six weeks, his bowel movements had regularised to twice (at the most thrice a day). He used to pass motions at more or less a fixed time.
After his 6 weekly dosages, his frequency of motions has gone up to 8-9 times.
Please advise

Hetal replied. if the motions continue for more than 3-4days,,contact your dr...
expect loss of apettite,,abit fussyness, mild fever upto 101, or like your in case sudden change in freq of motions for upto 48hours,,more thn that,,drs interfrnce is needed.
about the 6weekly dosages,,if it has not stopped and its been 48hrs,,contact your dr,,if its after 48hrs that it has startd, thn wait for 2days and check your baby temperatures,,etc..
whenver ne thing changes after vaccnatns esp within the week,,,make sure to make it a concern to your dr. avoid using home remedies when it comes to 7weeks old,,,7 weeks old does not need ne medication because its only bm or formula and thats all he is required to take ! if your bf,,,try eating sweet potato 1hour before the feed and see if helps ! but if its vaccnatns effct thats causing this,,it will not help !
will not like to wait more for 7weeks baby,,call your dr ! n would love to hear the update.
ruchika replied. hi roopa,
tell me about the consistency of the stools are they very watery or solid?
and 8-9 times means ltl of loose motions so u can give him a ltl hing (roast n tawa) suhaga(roat on tawa) and pinch of black salt grind them nicely then seive them after evry feed and berp just make him lick that a ltl pinch. its very very good for keeping stomach and digestion proper
btw are u giving him and janam ghutti or not or gripe water.?

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
