Name: Ishi Hi I've just had an u/s yest. I am 18 weeks. I couldn't really see the sex of the baby. My husband told the doctor that we didn't want to know... but I am sooo curious. The doctor however, said that he could see the baby's sex. What do we look for?? A penis for a boy.. but how can u tell if it's a girl?? I so much want a girl!!

Ask your dr !

If your dr has seen the sex of ur child; you can call the doctor and ask :-) That way u won't hva to wait for 4 weeks

i can imagine how curious u must be!!!.well,just be patient till ur next ultrasound,when u can know ur baby's sex....have u started feeling baby's movements??bye the way where do u live?we live in jackson mississippi.

we had an ultrasound last week.the doctor said that we r having a girl.she said she could see three white lines on the baby's genitialsand that's how they make out if its a girl.if its a boy ull see 2 white lines and a penis.but it seems three lines is a sure way to identify a girl.but for boys a finger can be mistaken for a penis.hope this will help u.

Hi Tittu, Firstly Congrats that u guys are having a girl!! That is sweet news! Tks so much for yr reply. I saw one very distinct white line.. where the genitals are supposed to be..the rest was faint. I am 18 weeks - maybe it's still developing.. the white line appeared to be a bone which i think is called the labia in females.. it looked exactly like a bone just the same as the bones in the spinal cord. I know what u're thinking I shud just find out :) now I can't wait for my next scan which is a whole 4 months away. Is it possible for two lines to be unclear and one very distinct?? Tks for yr comments. Are u also due in January?? Luv, Ishi

Hello:
My 20 week ultrasound also showed an enlarged kidney. The good news is that since it is only one side, chances are that he will \";grow out of it\"; and if there's a problem it will resolve itself. Hey Kavita,

I'd say you get the ultrasound done so you will be able to see what is going on. Vaginal ultrasound is a good idea too.
