Due Date Club January 2004:Fetal HydroNephrosis

Name: srav I had my 20 week ultrasound at 21 weeks, and the ultrasound report says mild fetal bilateral hydronephrosis. They asked me to come back for a followup. Did any of u have this? Do u know if this is related to down syndrome? I'm really worried. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi I am currently 32 weeks pregnant carrying twins...yest the doctor found one of my baby is having kidney dilation...i m really worried and in the same situation as u were years back...pls help...how is ur baby doing now???

Hello:
My 20 week ultrasound also showed an enlarged kidney. The good news is that since it is only one side, chances are that he will \";grow out of it\"; and if there's a problem it will resolve itself. Hey Kavita,

I'd say you get the ultrasound done so you will be able to see what is going on. Vaginal ultrasound is a good idea too.
