Due Date Club January 2004:Swelling

Name: Sri I am on my 21 week of pregnancy. This week I notice that my hand fingers are slightly swollen. More than that I could clearly see that my ankles and feet are swollen. This happened to me on the next day of my flight trip(I was on the plane for 2 hours at a strech). I an very concerned about it. Is this normal? Can I take any measures to avoid it?

Hi Payal,

It is very normal what you are experiencing.. I have the same symptoms, hands, feet, and even face seems to be swollen. But walk a lot, take lots of fluids, and it will be all ok.

hi,
dont worry i think it is normal cos i have this swelling in my fingers fo ra long time .n sometimes it even pains when i bend them .i asked my doc she checked my bp which was absolutely normal so she said its ok no need to worry.have lots of fluid n take care

My 20 week ultrasound also showed an enlarged kidney. The good news is that since it is only one side, chances are that he will \";grow out of it\"; and if there's a problem it will resolve itself. Hey Kavita,

I'd say you get the ultrasound done so you will be able to see what is going on. Vaginal ultrasound is a good idea too.
