hi sonia,,,,as far as your baby is not allergic to whole cows milk,,you can very much use it for food prepartn for babies above 8months,,
just avoid givng cows milk as important feed or sole nutrition as its fat levels are highr, vit d is added or less,, protein levels are heavier and iron levels are not adequate for babies below 1year !

make sure you remove the creamy layer on top from the cows milk to use it for kheer etc,,,or use skim milk if the aftr that feed of kheer or so..he seems to feel heavy or stays for more hrs without ne food or juice,,,thn make his foods with light fat milk/1-2% milk or less or skim or make it with water nd mix formula(formula+water, just like you make while offerng to baby or mix bm ! ) when the dish/kheer or food is at room temperature ! never boil or use formula to make ne food.
avoid sugar as much as you can, and alternate with sweet potato, raisins(after8months), banana or dates(after 1year)..

I used to make kheer or similar items with water and then add formula to it.

hi sonia,
i had the same question last week. i asked the health visitor here in UK and she advised me to use full fat cow's milk to make suji kheer.you can use cow's milk for cooking but not as a main drink reason being it is low in iron and other minerals. are you planning to add sugar? i was told not to add sugar instead raisins.. can anybody send me kheer recipes?
