Feeding:Feeding problem

Hi,
My son is 4 months old and weighs 13 pounds. Dr. said he is not gained enough weight compared to his 2 month visit. The problem as usual is his feeding. He used to gain good weight when he is 2 months old and lately he is starving and hardly drinks 3 oz of milk and I feed him 5-6 times from morning to midnight. I started giving him cereal which he doesnt each much than a teaspoon at morning. Can anyone suggest me how to increase the feeding amount. I give ajwain water mixed with sugar solution about 1 ml a day. I appreciate any helpful tips.

Thanks,
ashu

I agree with you. As long as the kid is active, guess that is what we have to care. Thanks for your reply.

Ashu..I'm in the same boat as you. My son is 3 months and 2 weeks old and weighs 13 pounds during his last visit. He used to gain real good weight in the first 2 months, but off late has really slowed down. It is a struggle to feed him 2 or 3 oz of formula and he goes without food for 4 to 6 hours at a time. His weight gain has come down from 13 oz in a week to 5 oz a week now. But his ped is not the least worried. As long as he is active, alert and is not ill, the ped says there are no reasons to be concerned. Babies show periods of hunger off and on. So let's just take it easy and give them what they want. I tried changing positions of feeding him, from the way we normally do to a football hold or lying down on the bed.Or if you are formula feeding him, add a lik karo syrup to it. It sweetens it up. It helps with my baby. So good luck and dont worry. He is OK.
