we are trying to conceive since 4 yrs.before 3 yrs i took 50mg of fertyl for 2 months.then after 1 yr i took 1 fertyl cycle.last yr i had 3 cycles of fertyl 50mg.now my dr is planning to start with fertyl 100mg for one month.i wanted to ask u how many max cycles of fertyl can be taken?i have already taken 6 cycles of fertyl at infrequent times is there any risk if i continue one more cycle with fertyl 100mg.are there any risk.
i am very much worried .or should i start with injectibles gonadorophins.is there any risk of ovarian cancer.
please guide me

recently i came to USA.
i have taken total 6 cycles of fertyl 50 mg but not in a row.

first fertyl 50mg i took in july 02.then 2nd fertyl i took on march 03.
3rd fertyl i took in sept 03.and then there was along gap .later on i took 3 fertyl cycles in a row in jan,feb,march 05.

yest my gynec told me that i have taken enough fertyl 50 mg .i can take one more cycle of clomid 100mg .but there will be risk of ovarian cancer.i told him that i had taken clomid at infrequent intervals so how can there be risk of ovarian cancer.he told me tell that thing to cancer.listening to him i got terrified at thought of ovarian cancer.
Archie i wanted to ask u only one thing we are planning to take clomid 100mg for one cycle is it still risk for ovarian cancer.
my hormones and tubes all are normal.USG of pelvis is also normal.

suju archie replied. typically while on clomid, (fertyl), you should have been followed for ovulation to see if the dose is working. If it was not then it should have been increased and the process could be tried for six cycles in a row. Since it has not been done as mentioned above or not clear from your message, honestly tought to comment on.

see if your gynec will follow you up to check hormones or sonograms to see follicles progress and estimate dose is right or not. Otherwise get in to other clinic.

Suju, i think u hv taken enough fertyl. have u checked ur harmone levels? talk to ur gyn abt it. maybe you can try for IUI. before that rule out all problems like blocked tubes & harmonal functions. then ur gyn will be able to suggest a right course of action. by the way, where r u placed?
