I am TTC from last 3.5 years but no success. Just did my iui this month but i ahve no feeling so far and also i did hpt today morning but it was negative so i am hoping it 2 b negative. just wondering that is there is anyone who knows who had experianced iui success in forrst/2nd attempt or more. or any ivf success stories. Mine is an unexplained frtility. i am so depressed. i am already 36 and my Dh is 39. thanks

my son is only 5 months now. total cost of ivf/cycle comes up anywhere b/w 1 to 1.25 lacs depending on the amount of medicines you need. they hv fixed ivf/icis charge & rest depends on how much injection you need + any other expenses you need after you conceive. on my 4th cycle i asked them to do a blastocyst transfer. that means when they fertilize sperm & egg, they let it grow till 4, 8 or 16 cell(depending on the embryo's growth) before transferring it to the womb. in blastocyst, they let it grow further i.e the embryo will break out from the shell & grow to its next stage. this is a bit of risk as embryos may not grow in to blastocyst & you will lose embryo. so doctors warn you of the concequences before hand & decision will have to be entirely your. generally it shd work woth normal ivf-icsi only. also cost depends on which doctor you go or which city you choose. expenses vary but i think it shd not cost more than 1.5 lacs/ cycle. good luck to you. savitha replied. simmi, soorry for the delay in reply. saw yr msg just now. i live in brunei. got the treatment in india, bangalore-dr. sulochana gunasheela(gunasheela surgical & maternity home+ ivf center).happy to note that u hv got some inspiration from my story. don't let others bother u. everyone keeps asking when will u give good news or when u meet someone new, how many kids u hv!!! we must harden our heart to such queires & say God willing we will do so very shortly. savitha replied. hey simmi, don't lose hope. 1st of all believe in urself. believe that u will get pregnant one day, no matter how hard it gets. 2nd hv faith in God. most important trust ur doc. i had 7 failed iui cycles & on 4th ivf had success, with one ectopic pregnancy in b/w. i was also 35 when i concieved. pls follow ur docs suggestion & don't start doubting when there is a failure & change docs.and dear i've been maried for 13 yrs!!! take away that sad expression from ur mind. learn to enjoy life. there is life apart from having a kid. trust me once u hv a kid, life will totally change :)) so do all that u hv always wanted to do, so that when u hv a kid u can totally dedicate urself to ur child without feeling that u hv missed out on life. i hv seen many moms who had kid within 1 yr of marriage & crib that they haven't enjoyed life at all!! whatever maybe the scenario, learn to keep yourself happy. good luck dear.
