i have a kid of my brother in law in my house ,he is 7 yrs of age andmy son is 5
..so that child keeps degrading my son everytime that he cant do this or that..i am scared wot to do and how to manage my child cuz everytime i am not with them to sclarify my son that he can do all.

If you feel that you can' t make yourself available for your kid everytime,then follow a simple rule-talk to your son.After you are back from your work arrange a particular time for yourself and your kid and speak to him generally first as to what he had done all the day.If he' s not ready to speak just comfort him telling about how you spent the day.He' ll slowly try getting into the flow and will start sharing his part of the story.When he starts talking ,do not interupt and allow him to narrate whatever he feels and reacts to what has happened till then.Then get him closer to you and in a very supple tone clarify his doubts first.Then get into the details explaining what is right and what is not and guide him what to do and what not to do.Do not straight away ask why he had not retaliated or reacted to the situation.Also do not try to picture your brother-in-law' s kid as a bad one.This will further worsen the situation.Do the talking on a regular and daily basis so that your kid soon starts sharing everything with you and understands that you are by his side.If this does' nt work ,try talking things with your brother-in-law' s kid in the same supple tone ,not behind but rather infront of your family members.
