what is your baby birth wght,,without birthwght details its impossible to know whether your baby is growing or gaining !

for 8months check the below post,,it will help you decide more options for your baby :
http://www.indiaparenting.com/boards/showmessage.cgi?messageid=5638&table_name=dis_feeding

after some days or a month,,your baby will need :
http://www.indiaparenting.com/boards/showmessage.cgi?messageid=6134&table_name=dis_feeding

http://www.indiaparenting.com/boards/showmessage.cgi?messageid=6170&table_name=dis_feeding

this should help you.

avoid wheat and honey at 8months,,and offer her more vegetables and fruits,,soon your baby will be ready for multigrains and proteins,,so make him ready for that!
about the other details, you will get them in the links !

the timings of diet is good,,but your diet needs more vegies, fruits and variations with other single grains,,and juices are to be included.....

good luck !

hello,
your son's diet & weight gain looks fine. i presume you are giving your son nestle & dumex cereals.
at 8 mts u can start home cooked foods like rice, dal, idli, dosa, roti, sheera(kesaribhat),upma etc. aslo u can start fresh vegetables, boil them, mash & give, also fruits. mash well & give. if its ok with ur baby u can also try giving fresh curds. make it at home & give it at room temperature. for variation you can mash boiled veggies & add it to your baby's cereal or alternately any fruits. you can also try heinz multigrain mix or heinz banana breakfast. alternately if you know how to prepare ragi cereal, you can try that also. in a recent post hetal has written various means of preparing ragi kanji.
for great baby recepies you can check any of hetal's posts to other moms of 8 mt old. for evening snack you can give baby bites, rice rusks..baby will learn to bite & chew. they become soft once inside the mouth, so no risk of choking.later when ur baby is sued to eating this biscuit, you can give marie or glucose bisciut occassionally. best is to start home made food.
only issue is, as rains & haze are more in singapore, be careful abt yoghurt & citrus fruits.
last but not least..follow the golden rule go slow & one by one..if anything does not agree with ur baby stop it.
good luck.
annie.
