hi hetal.
my baby is not new to solids. my mom in law has been giving her a little bit of cottage cheese (mashed with a touch of salt in it) and fruit juice (yes, diluted; apple, mausambi etc.) she was taking ceralac very nicely but suddenly she has stopped taking that. i wrote to u before asking, my baby likes glucose biscuits a lot. and her bowel movement is very much regular with no problems. her schedule is as follows:
9 am: she wakes up
9.30 am: BM
10:30 am: takes bath
11:00 am: 1 1/2 scoop of nestum rice with milk
12:00 noon: BM, and she sleeps off
2:30 pm: cottage cheese/ biscuit/ juice
3:30 pm: BM
after that BM every hour or after 1 1/2 hour
8:30 pm: Nestum rice or cerelac wheat apple
10:30 pm: BM (little bit)
11:30 BM and she sleeps
and after that sometimes after 3 hours in the night or sometimes every hour whenever she cries and wakes up, i have to give her BM other wise she doesnt sleep.
and my problem is that she is too much involved in BM, she doesnt want to take bottle or formula milk at all. when i try to give her Formula, she starts crying loud until i give nipple in her mouth (BM).
i want to make her used to othwer foods than BM.
and i stay in India. Kindly help. i used to stay in joint family but now im in nuclear family. i want to set her routine in which she starts taking some semisolid foods and other weaning foods and i want to reduce givein her BM.

11:00 am: 1 1/2 scoop of nestum rice with milk ///// hope milk is bm or formula,.,,,or offer fruit puree instead.check the links that i gave you in your prev posts.
12:00 noon: BM, and she sleeps off //// no comments...
2:30 pm: cottage cheese/ biscuit/ juice///// avoid cottage cheese or biscuits,,,,give khichadi or introduce your baby with whole moong or moong dal water first,,and then offerr with rice....add in vegies as you introduced...
3:30 pm: BM ////no comments...
after that BM every hour or after 1 1/2 hour /////no comments...
8:30 pm: Nestum rice or cerelac wheat apple //// avoid offering fruits at night,,or offer it in first part of the day...avoid ne product that offers partial wheat at 6months,,please note that this might be the cause...so try on that...instead offer the rice cereal or start your baby with oatmeal cereal..when you start/introduce a new cereal ,offer it for 1 week in first part of the day,,and thn once he is ok,,offer in second part of day or in dinners...
10:30 pm: BM (little bit) ///no comments...
11:30 BM and she sleeps///// no comments...
once winter is over, by that time your baby will be around 8-9months,,right time to put him to schedule as by thn he will be totally on solids and bf or formula milk will be his secondary diet..and thn you can alternate his feeds and judge his schedule timings or feed timings..
at 6months,its too early for you to think about schedule..howver, if you are one of those lucky moms,,with proper diet, your baby is expected to come to a specific schedule,,which you can try on basis of ideas that are in links,,,see if it fits your baby.
other than bm,,the only thing you can offer is formula,,so start introducng formula to your baby like in cereal,,or in bottle..give him smooth transition in order below :
day 1:80%bm.20%formula.whole day.
day 2 : reduce the percentage to 10%,and increase the formula %...whole day
day 3 : see how he accepted on day 2..ne other discomforts like constipation,or intake,,if so,,go slower with % of formula...
day 4: same as day 3...
and continue until he is able to take formula as 100% !!!!
at 6months, dont rush to put your child to schedule,,its too early for him..go slow,,know his intakes, regularize his bowels,,give him enough playtimes and make sure he grows well until 9-10months,,once his solid acceptance is determined,,his schedule will be predicted..right now,,dont rush.
if she has stopped taking ceralac, change the brand of cereal or visit your dr to make sure she is doing okay by health.
good luck.
