Hi , I'm new to this site. I just want to know that we have being trying to have a baby for past 3 months and went to see a Gynec. She has prescribed a daily dose of 10 mg of allylestrenol tablets. What are they for?

Dear Bhawna,
I am curious to know few things, why did you rush into Dr. so early. If you are around 25 still you don't qualify to go for fertility treatment.
What was the reason your Dr. prescribed you Allylesrenol, which is a synthetic steroid wtih progesteronal activity.

Just putting a query about the name of the drug is not enough. You should give the background enough, especially when you write first time. Try to include details of medical analysis at your Drs. office then only one can say what's drug and how will it benefit to you, if at all!

You are not pregnant and I am wondering why is this treatment. Also if you are in USA usually this is not a drug they use in treatment, at least I am not familiar, may be I haven't read enough.

Hi Archie,

I'm 27 and My husband is 32 and we from India.As I told earlier that we have been trying for past three months. We went to the doctor and she did the routine test. I told her that we just need a counselling because there might be something which we aren't following. she explained the procedure in detail and She asked me take these tablets for 10 days starting from the 16th day of my MC. well i'm not pregnant yet. she also asked my husband to get some test for his sperm count. I wanted to know is it too early to get these these things done?

Allylestrenol is an orally active progesterone derivative with a selective ß - adrenergic effect. It stimulates placental progesterone synthesis and increases the secretion of placental hormones.
