I am ttc for long time..as everyone suggests I laydown keeping my lap,leg on pillow after sex, eventually i go to sleep.I never get a chance to get up & wash the viginal area.Now problem is I get urine infection very often & I am really tired of taking infection medicine.I can't wash the area immediately after having sex, b'coz i am trying to conceive..Any suggestions..please help.. archie replied. recurrent UTI are common for some couples, even some couple take precautionary antibiotic treatment before actually trying on fertile days.

I do not think your UTI has to do with you not cleaning vaginal area soon after intercourse. It is just that you will catch regardless if you pass urine soon after intercourse and clean or wait for 30-45 minutes.

However, if you still believe this is due to you sleeping in bed and eventually getting in deep sleep, why not to let your spouse wake you up after 30 minutes of intercourse. Try to talk to him.

More than anything I would suggest you both to take precautionary antibiotics for a week say from CD3 to CD10 if your cycles are regular and are of 28-29 days. Do intercourse only on CD11 to CD13 and wait to see the results at the end of cycle.
