Feeding:16 months baby not ready to eat food by sitting

My daughter is 16 months old still she takes food by lieing down. She doesn't take food if we try to feed her by making her sit or by showing her something outside. We have to make her liedown and then feed her. This is very cumbersome. As she is growing even this is becomming difficult. Now she is protesting to take food even by lieing down. I don't know how to handle her and feed her. Why she doesn't like food. But if we give her some sweet she eats it very happily on her own. When it comes to food she just doesn't take.
Please help me in this regard.Thanks in advance
