Bowel and Bladder Movements:Some Queries related to potty training

Hi All,

First I would like to thanks to all members in this board for sharing the potty training tips.

My son is now 15th and half months old and from last two months I am trying to trained him but not get success :-(
Please answered my queries on your experience if possible.

His bowels timing are regular not always but most of the times. Whenever he makes the impression to pass the stool, I put him on potty chair but immediately he stops in midway only and started crying. I bought two types of potty chair, one of usual chair design and other one with horse headed but nothing worked out for me. Do I need to bought some other kind of chair.

Infact I tried to made him sit on chair other then potty timings also so he will be useto with chair, like whenever he is watching TV or playing, give him his favourite toys, books, colours but very difficult to made him sit for more then 3-5 min. After than he starts playing with chair itself :-) SO moms please let me know how I will go ahead.

Regarding Pee training if I will take him to rest room in every 45 min to one hour then he will pass but sometimes if I forgot he never gives me any sign and passes in pants only.
Are kids of this age are young enough to give us sign in every one hour. How I will teach him.

I am using cotton pants only for training.

Thanks in adv
Sona

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi there please be calm and relax as it happens sometime the child takes little time to start walking or crawling also but in your case the child should have started crawling if not walking.... - Anita [View Message]
