i read in sme websites dat replacing brown sugar is healthy & is less in calories.so i strtd usng brown sugar in sweets mostly bcz my dh is obese & is on strict diet.aftr usng fr 2mnths, hs weight & sugar levels were high.so i ws askd to stp brown sugar & replace hs cakes n desserts with grated carrots n raisns.its bn a mnth & hs sugar level n weight hs reducd smwat.bt dat ws the reason.if brown sugr hd less calories den my dh weight shld hv dcreased hai naa ?
my dr said its a myth dat brwn sugr is btter thn white sugr.
i thnk if its nt gud fr adults thn not gud fr babies.natural brown sugar is nt sweet like pure sugarcane sugar, so u r addng more. sum total is same.

sonia replied. hi ! white sugar is refined to the core. anything white like white rice, white sugar and white flour all r refined and so babies r aked to be kept on things that r not refined and r natural. even though we know this we all carry on giving white. but ya good thinking and practice. well, i have used brown sugar, with brown sugar, u'll just have to add more of it as compared to the qty u use in white sugar ! rest it does taste a little different but has less calories i guess and is ofcourse good for health. it's available in all the grocery stores. in india where - i am sorry i won't be able to help here ! all the best !
