Cauliflower Cheese

This is a great favourite for babies. Try using different cheeses or combinations of cheese until you find your babies favourite taste. Try using the cheese sauce over a mixture of vegetables as well.

MAKES 15 PORTIONS

175g(6oz) cauliflower
Cheese Sauce
15g(1/2oz) margarine 1 tablespoon cornflour
175ml(6floz) milk 50 g(2oz) grated cheese, Edam or Gruyere cheese

Wash the cauliflower carefully, divide it into small florets and steam until tender(approx 10 minutes). Meanwhile, for the sauce, melt the margarine over a gentle heat in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and stir in the cornflour to make a smooth paste. Add the milk and stir until thickened. Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in thr grated cheese. Keep stirring until all the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Add the cauliflower to the sauce and puree in a blender for younger babies. For older babies, mash with a fork or chop into little pieces.

Hi Lkshmi,

As far as I know, you can start giving cheese once she/he becomes 1 year old..infact you can give anything once they turn 1 year old..

Hi
Cheese is very good for babies/toddlers. I give at least one serving of cheese to my baby daily.
You saidt hat your baby doesnot like cheese as it is. I assume you had tried most of the brands/types available. Still I will like to tell you about
(1)Breakstons's 4% milk fat, \";COTTAGE cheese\";. This is very tasty, salty & curdly also comes in convenience 4 oz.snack packs
(2)Krafts singles OR ANY AMERICAN CHEESE.
Both these my dd takes as such as her snack & she loves them.I will say try these.
As far as receipes concern, try giving her \";maccroni & cheese\";. You will get receipe from any cooking site or you can get in store both readymade in freezer section or easy to make packs in pasta section.
Second choice is give her regular pasta with cheese & tomato sauce. Third most easy give her cheese sandwich. try adding chedder cheese in between omlette if she likes that.
I hope it will help.

I hope it will help you
