Hetal, i need some suggestions from you.

1.proteins and fibre foods in vegetarian diet.
can you please advice some foods.i am pure vegetarn and we don't eat eggs.
like you mentioned earlier, i am now able to give my 1 year old multigrains,wholegrains,sprouted and boiled moong, he has accepted everything and eats well.i wanted to give him black channa, can i give ?

2.i tried making tofu but my tofu becomes chewy or like rubber and he is not able to chew it well. when we order chines the tofu is so nicely cooked, he enjoys it.sometimes my tofu dries up and evn i hv to remve the pieces.
any suggestions how to cook with tofu.

3.my pastas don't come out soft. some pastas are raw even after i boil for 30-40minutes.
please help me with these issues.i got variety of pastas and my son likes it very much.

4. my son is now able to take all the table foods, thanks to you.
But, he is not able to eat sour foods. whenever i give him sour foods like tomato sauce gravies, curd or orange juice he starts making noise with his teeth by rubbing them together. at 1 year he should be able to take sour foods hainaa ? is it because he is not ready for it.
prev he was not doing this.he used to enjoy eating raw cherry tomatos when he was 10months old.at that time he had 2 upper and lower teeth.but now he has started doin dis.
and past 2 days he is doing it for all foods he eats and yesturday evening he started doing it when he got abit irritated for some reason. he ws nt able to lift his rocker and he startd doing dis until we settled him for some other toy.
i feel that now dis hs bcome hs habit.

my mil says he has worms in his stomach, is it true?
she gave some ayurvedic syrup when i was at work, but it didn't help.now she says that everyday this syrup is to be given.i don't know the name but she said it's made of neem juice. is it safe for babies at 1 year ? she doesn't even let me read the pack of the syrup. everytime i try to read the pack of that syrup, she will divert my attention to something related to my son and my dh. and she doesn't tell me the name either. i feel so foolish of doin all dis.i dunt knw whr she has hiddn it.i couldn't see the bottle since yesturday.
i am not giving him any sweet things
how can he get worms ? normally problem of worm is with babies having sugar ha naa ?
any thing to worry about ?
normally my son passes stools for 2 times or just once but yesturday it was 5-6 times.today from mrng to evening,he had his stools thrice.
though these three stools were normal, i am worried now.
i am sure it is because of this syrup.please advice reg dis. i am on leave for one week so i will not allow my mil to give this syrup to my son, but after that i am sure she will do whatever she wants. today also she wanted to give, but my dh didn't have much work in office today so he came early and it was friday so i too had left late. my mil didn't get a chance to give that syrup today.
so, please tell me what shuld i do.
atleast in a week, if i can do something to reduce dis, she will have no reason to give medicine. she just doesn't listen to me. Hetal, please tell me what to do. i respect her, she is very caring but sometimes she is so particular abt these kind of remedies.dat she will do it in my absence if i dnt allow her or my dh is present.she knows that my dh is against dis.
recently, my son had mild cold and she gvs him garlic juice drops.
my son gets this cold whnver season changes and it goes off mst of the times without any medicine in a day or 2.
i told her but she didn't listen to me.
with garlic juice drops, cold went away in 24hrs but next day he got red ulcers in his mouth.my dr and dh scolded me.when my dr was scolding me about gvng garlic drops, she was listenng to him but didn't speak a word. on way back home when i told her tht she shouldn't have done this, she said cold went away in 24 hrs.
my dh hd bad day in office and was looking tired dat day, so i didn't argue furthr but i have to give up all the time.when i told the reason to my dh, my mil comes and tells him that cold is gone in 24 hrs.
she doesn't understand that the cold medcne was nt at all needed. and evn if child suffers from cold with proper medicine, he will get better in 1-2 days but without any other problems.
hetal, it took 5-6 days for him to recover from ulcers in mouth.in dat 5-6days, my son cldnt eat well, his stool schedule got irregular and he lost 300grams. still she is not acceptng her mistake.in all it took him almost 10-12 days to come back to his regular schedule of meals and stools.

she wins all the time with so many reasons and i don't have any reason to argue. i have no other help and have to work to keep up with our house bills.do you think nanny will be a good idea. but i am afraid my mil will not leave her alone.i had maid before, after a week itself she tells me that she doesn't want to take care of my house.she said that my mil wants her to work in her ways and she is not ready to do it dat way.so she left.
hetal, i am really worried about her actions.she is staying with us for another 8months or may be 1 year. i don't know what will happen by thn.sorry fr my vent out, bt smtims when i am at work i keep thinking tht she mst be givng some unknown medicine to my son.i am so much frustratd of all dis dat i smtmes dream of losng my son.

well its not the worm thats causing this,,before your child was not doing this because he didnt have enough teeth to make this noise,,now that he has discovered, he is just practising it,,and sour things are just the right food for a good start,,,,kids are fascinated by their own body organs, parents body organs,,ne noise made by ne thing may it be their own clapping hand or a waving or just a tap with leg or a stomp by feed,,,they love these things and this is just the right age of practising it...this is the age when kids like to repeat the things they happen to come accross and some of it like this one is bad and others are good,,
whenever he does that,,,just divert his mind and talk to him,,with eye contact,,he will gather all the attention by looking at your straight in eyes and this will divert him,,,never say No to kids,,they are somehow programmed by the way we use NO :)) the more you get irritated or respond, the more he will do..so just ignore it and whenever you think he is about to do,,just divert him,,by saying aaaa or hheeee or ne words that he speaks or likes to shout,,,this will help him open his mouth and stop doing it...do that repeatedly,,,and now that he has learned his way to gathering attettion and getting his things done,,understand that he is trying to find out your responses and as a survival instinct because he cant speak and show his dislike, he is testing your patience on how you will handle it/...
being mom, you have to outsmart him,,,divery his mind in something interesting,,,if nothing just take him and dance !! well, sometimes kids forget when it comes to music,,give him something to chew so that instead of making that noise,,he will chew !!! may be just a biscuit,,,teething biscuits are hard and great way to throw out their frustrations,,,give that,,let him bite as hard as he can and relieve himself from his own frustrations of his things not happening on his time,,,
other, is show him how to express himself,,like booooooooooo whn he feels sad or upset or angry and hey hey or clapping when he is happy,,,for teaching him that, whenever you play with him,,practise that when things dont happen the way you want,,say boooooooooo and when he is able to play rightly say haeeee and give clap...he will learn to clap and ssay boooo,,,my 1 year learned this and whenever she is angry she will shout and say booooooooooooo,,and whenver happy she will dance and clap,,,this has worked for me pretty well,,,
well, it takes time and you cant expect results in a week or so,,but by the weekend atleast you can keep diverting his mind and it will help him atleast forget about it..
about your other issues/ques i will write later,,hope its ok with you,,,start trying these things see if it makes ne difference,,,
