thank you Hetal. i will start my kidoo with all these spices one by one.I am working mom and i am tired of making one cup meals for my baby after cooking for entire family.inlaws don't help at all.as it is sooner or later he has to eat our food.
you are right, the books hve in teaspoon in pwder. one book has recipes in which large pieces of red bell peppers and onion are used but they are to be removed before serving.
i just read all the recipes, and i observed that all of them have red bell peppers.
the recipes that are above 1 year has green and yellow.i am impressed.I didn't observe this before. Thanks for putting this to my notice.
some recipes have peperika powder and black pepper. can i give that ? how much you suggest ? what is peperika powder ? in krogers i saw that it was like chilli powder, but if they are same
why is chilli powder sold seperately ? I am confused. please explain.
i read your post to sapna that you plan to take a break during delivery. You think we will let you do that ?

Hetal replied. well, thanks for being so sweet...
now about black pepper,,yes can be given,,a lil sprinkle goes a long way !! avoid giving black pepper with our indian meals,,it doesnt fit in well..or with our indian spicies,,,they dont go well together,,also avoid using black pepper with other types of pepper or ginger,,,your baby might not be comfortable at this stage with too many heat producing elements in his food !!
otherwise,,go ahead..
check for ne refluxes,,for ne spices you use,,and then graduate your baby accordingly.
i think you are talking about paprika,,,well its the mild powdered seasoning made from sweet red peppers or what youc all is bell peppers..sometimes its colour is also seen dark and deel but vividdd,,and is also made from reddish or orange sweet peppers..
why dont you give it a try tasting both, with a pinch in your fingers,,you will right away understand the difference !!!
and the chilli peppers are often what we call as Hot peppers..which are stronger in heat, flavour and yes they make you cry when you chop them or mince them sometimes...
and there are around 200 varieties of these..all different in flavours and taste dpneding on country, climate and soil they are grown in....
whenever a dish is expected to taste mild in taste, nd needs a good texture with a strong robust of COLOUR instead of flavour or heat,,, often paprika is used..
and when you need to give your food a kick of HEAT,strong flavour,,using hot peppers or what we call is chillies is better idea...
hope this suffices and you know what to give to your lil one now !!!!
Good Luck,,thanks for your good wishes,,
