oats are more pref because of many vitamins esp those with bcomplexz..mstly in making an oatmeal, there is no loss of vitamins or minerals..oats has vitamin b1(thiamin that helps in converting carbohydrates into energy in muscles,,,),vitb2(riboflavin that helps grwoth and digestion of nutrients),vit b3(nicotinic acid - esp the tryptophan which are excellent source of vitamin supporting healthy nerves, skin, digestive systems),,vitb6(pyrodoxine) thats great for healthy muscles, nerves, skin, vit e which is naturally found in oats and prevents oxiations of all the polysaturated fatty acides...also minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc,, iron nd phsphorous are provided in good qty in oats..
one of the parts or content or the oat that has the highest concentration of soluble fibre is the bran..Oats are one of the richest and most easily available sources of soluble fibre so including them in the diet on a regular basis is very beneficial to health.esp for infants/toddlers when infants and toddlers are not yet able to take enough fibre in their diet..and that their digestive system takes a good time of around 18month to accept and digest all kinds of raw or cooked foods....
thus, oat rich in high fibre is introduced just after the rice cereal ! also fibre is responsible for easy digestion and reducing cholestrol ! thats just what babies need to live a healthy life ahead.
they have a very large percentage of the diet's protein requirement. They are rich in protein-approx 13 per cent...thus prvidng them with essential amino acids(proteins) in the diet...they contain 8.7 per cent fat, made up of the three main types, saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated.just the needed per serving for a growing infant and toddler.at the same time,Oats contain a very small amount of saturated fat but provide good quantities of the essential fatty acids !! oats naturally are free from sugars,,so good n safe for toddlers and infants,or during pregnancy..and excellent food for diabetic patients..
Oats have naturally a very small amount of sodium - 3 3 mg per 100 g (some 9 mg per ounce),,which is just the right amt needed for toddlers/pregnancy or even diabetic patients.
thats why oats !! any food mostly thats high in fiber, adequate fat levels, protein levels,,all these eases digestion process in total and also helps, lowering cholesterol,,and thats just what kids and now even we need to keep our body healthy,,,,,some 100grams gives somewhere 400 calories so they are high in calories too !!!
