Hetal replied. this was the last thing i wanted to hear...
neways, now that she has got it,,give her medicines on time. as far as she is recovering,i am really not worried about what kind of medication she is taking,,sp because your sister is doc.
i would trust that.
other than this, make sure she eats watever she likes..try giving warm soups with some pastas in that,so as to give some good nutrition and also soups often make babies feel good.
other good soups include spinach soup, soya chunks soup,,
also, include vitamin c in her diet so that she recovers better. vit c is known to give a boost to immune. give her fresh oranje juice at room temperature. give her light but nutritious diet.avoid cheese and too much milk in ne fevers or congestions...however giving warm milk with light sprinkle of turmeric often feels good. but babies dont like the taste :)
make sure her temp does not rise above 102,,otherwise she needs to see dr. viral fevers are mostly cause of season change and someone infection ofcourse...someone around who might be having a mild viral fever might have come accross your daughter,,so everyone around your house should be careful in handling baby and toddler. avoid too much closeness like mouth to mouth breathing, and close contact,,,this will help her to recover fasterr...
keep her well ventilated with light baby rub on her back and chest, feet and a light touch on forehead.on forehead just a touch dont apply.
make her wear socks, some babies feet get cold because of fever and this will cause them shiver..so avoid that.
give her fresh bath with some cologne/baby cologne in it,,so that she feels fresh and not sick !
avoid ne hairwash or frequent baths,,but give her a light shower which is hardly of 5mins.change her cloths 3times in a day to avoid the same infection again and again. wash her clothes in hot water and keep them away from her reach by ne means..
rest is fine, she is expected to recover by 5 days with proper medication, if this prolongs its advisable to take her to dr and get her checked. virals should not last longer than a week,,,it badly affects the immune of healthy human body and makes it futher weak...recovery often slows down if not cured in short span of time.

good to know she is better...
she had viral fever so dont assume that she will be fine in 2-3 days. her body will take time of 5-6 days to recover completely. she is irritable which shows that she is still having internal viral fever,,thats bothering her. once everything is out of her system, she will be back to normal.just continue the medicine and complete the dosage...also continue keeping her fresh, clean and wash her clothes in hot or with ne dettol like liquid to prevent or stop virals.
never mind if she doesnt want the soupss, give her watever she eats..keep offering...the more she drinks the faster she will recover..for ne virals or bacterial infections, its expected that body is totally hydrated and doesnt lose its own water content..
give watever, she takes,,give her vegetable broth(remove vegetables from it,add in her fav fruit to it for added flavour and offer that juice like clear liquid with straw !!!!!atleast she will get good dosage of vegies,if nothing,,,,giving things like dal pani with light tadka(remove tadka and offer the pani),,,..like wise rice soup with some pepper in it, and some rock salt will make her taste buds better..just a lil sprinkle is great...just strain the soups and other foods you want to give thru mesh or cotton cloth for the best juice like clear liquidss to make her drink that in straw cup.add or deduct her fav flavours as per she demands ! in short, give her nething that suits her but with lil of your ingrediants as well.
virals are hard to recover,,i said as earlier, expect total or some 50% recovery upto 5 days,,if not rush her to dr.
if the fever is strictly viral then antibiotics are not needed and if its bacterial then, antibiotics are given !
infections like colds, flu, most coughs and bronchitis and sore throats(except for step throat),,are generally not treated with ne antibiotics.mostly they are given for bacterial infections.antibiotics are very powerful medicines and you should not expect your dr to prescribe you one if you are having virals or seasonal fevers.
also note that some viral infections might lead to bacterial infections !!!! thats y i said if she doesnt recover by 5 days, let your dr check her ! so that she can continue to recover at a good rate !!
so take care and keep me posted and make sure you try to give her everything in clear liquid form...
good luck
