Hi !

my baby girl is 6 months old but still doens't sleep thru the night. i give her formula during the night but still she gets up - i am not sure if it's only out of hunger alone. any tips on this please. she sometimes gets up and wants to play in the middle of the night. during the day also she doesn't sleep much. any advise would be comforting !! thanks !! I started from just when he was born... never put him into bed for sleeping in the day time, in the day time he was with me in other room, sleeping on sofa, just when evening started we started to speak silently and put night curtains, no light in the room, in the night I didnt talk to him, just feed and put him to sleep fast. And explain him always it is time to sleep now, they can understand. It was very quick to change his night periods like this. And than I breastfed him as he wanted, in the evening like 4 times continuously almost every hour, It was struggeling first 14 days, but than his stomache became bigger and he needed just 1 feeding in the night and evening he stopped to eat so frequently. Till now he needs more breast feedings in the evening, but than he sleeps through all night continuously, 10 hours. And without formulas and heavy food. So I think they have to get used to eat most often evening. LN replied. Give him cereal like rice/oatmeal mixed with formula about 2 hrs before sleep at night then give formula just before sleeping. Start with 2spoons of cereal and then increase. My baby used to do same ,we started with cereal & he sleeps thru night.Even if he wakes he does'nt need any milk/food.

My son is going to be 6 mths. old soon but doesn't sleep through the night. He also gets up once or twice in a night and asks for feed. I also give him formula at night. Soon I am going to start more solids to him. SoI am hoping that he will sleep better then. In the daytime he takes one or two small naps . So if you find out any solution do tell me. Melanie replied. My son was like that and then slowly I used to make sure that he does not sleep during the day,do not go and play with her ,tell her that ist sleepy time,they do undertsand it.If possible try to put her in her own room as I felt that this helped my son to sleep better
