My 16 months old kido doesnt take fruits. I have tried giving her in grated form. Is it good to mix milk or curd with fruits and make a puree. which form is better - milk or curd with fruits.
Any other nutritious food i can give?

its a good idea, but avoid giving sour or citrus fruits with milk or yogurt. fruits like banana, apple, mango are safe enough. for strawberries,or ne berries, or ne melons and fruits like plums,or pears orpeaches,,make a fruit shake. often combinations like banana, mango, orange or banana, strawberry, apple, or pear, banana, peaches, and such others have been liked by babies and adults too..
try giving in that form.make sure with ne citrus you give, give banana, it will nullify the acidity in the citrus and no sugar is required !!!
berries with milk is ok to give, provided given as soon as its made. also not recommended if the milk or yogurt is of room temperature,it has to be chilled,,so that acidity in these fruits dont curdle the milk..curdled milk is not goin to prove healthy for your baby.also, chilled foods are not recommended below 3years of age.

so you might want to consider that.it all depends on acidity of fruits and also its taste,,sometimes berries are extremely fresh and sweet,,use them, no problem.

also try giving fruits in the form of spreads of parathas or puris or bread, or pies..tons of recipes are available in different sites,,or look for sugar free fruit preserves in the health store, they often dont have sugar and its pure form of fruit, however, avoid giving preserves with pectin or corn syrup, instead, sugar is far better and natural form of sweetness.
i make preserves at home, put a bit of ghee in the good hot nonstick, throw in washed, chopped or thinly sliced or watever way you like, but fresh fruit & check for sweetness, and let it cook. once cooked, add in honey as desired sweetness.you can add pure maple syrup or even sugar..16mnths are ready for all these...
make sure to use less sweetness so that your baby learns to develop the fruits taste!

good luck

Hi Anoushka,

Yes its ok to puree with milk and yoghurt... both taste good...even for adults! So your darling will start liking it too. Just that it might make him want to stick onto this form of fruit intake. So once she starts having these regularly without any fuss, try to wean her out by slowly reducing quantity of milk/yoghurt and by leaving some chunks. Finally one day u can stop milk/yoghurt and give her a full chunk!

Best of luck!
