Thnx Hetal for ur kind reply¡K
After reading your reply I have few more queries. Pls take ur time to reply these also if possible¡K.
1. Ya I have stopped sooji. My mom told me only this weekend that even sooji is an outcome from wheat, so I had to stop it,, which I was not knowing it earlier ¡Kƒº.
2. I am giving millet and about barley can I use pearl barley seeds to cook the cereal and puree it later on as I could not find flour as yet.. Although I forgot to mention but sometimes in late afternoon I giver her barley water.
3. cabbage definitely I will stop it henceforth.
4. if you don¡¦t mind can u explain what is squash. And other veggies u mentioned I am introducing them one by one.. also if you don¡¦t mind can youpls explain how do we check that avocado is ripe. I bought some knowing its nutrient value for my kido but have to throw all since when I cut it and tasted I found iit bitter. Some I even waited till it were bit soft but then too I found them bitter.
Since in India we seldom eat this veg-fruit, I don¡¦t know about it.
5. Also if u cud give me easy recipes for asparagus and avocado will be of gr8 help..
6. tell me one thing is toor dal not gassy¡K??? And will my kido¡¦s stomach be able to take the heaviness of chana daal as you mentioned to mix with moong dal. Moong dal I have already started. One day I gave with rice and other day with ragi.
7. thnx for the spices idea I will definitely start one by one¡K.Oooooh there is so many things to start and days seems so little¡K.i shud continue for atleast 3-4 days right then only shud introduce another one..??
8. also the last but the most important point¡K. Can I see the result from the BM for one more month or this weight is too low to start off formula right away??? Actually I stay in Bahrain and from from last 1.5 months in Qatar with my hubby on some of his assignment and could not actually eat healthy food. I have to eat everyday from restaurants only. I am here for next 1.5-2 months more. I am feeling so bad that this is the real time for my kidos growth and I could not give her healthy BM. Well as you mentioned I can atleast start of with extra milk, cheese, yogurt and all¡K
Can I wait for 1 month or it will be too late.. I believe that at 7 months for a girl, weigth shud be around 8 kgs but she is only 6.78kg.
Please let me know your views..
Thnx Ruchi¡K.

Hetal replied. 2. give ne barley that is available..the best form of barley, if you are able to get it is hulled barley or barley groats,,its the least processed barley;;look for it in health food stores...its rich in fiber and excellent to eat..however,pearl barley is also nutritious & is the most common form of available barley. While hulled barley loses only the thick outer hull in the milling process, pearl barley is stripped of the nutritious bran layer as well, leaving just the \";pearl\"; inside. but yes its fairly nutritious,if you dont get ne thing-a good option indeed.
barley water is not harmful by ne means. you can continue it, but its not needed to give.you are giving him barley once right,,thats enough for him at this point..give some other juice instead..
4.squash-http(:)//en(.)wikipedia(.)org/wiki/Squash_(fruit)
this will give you all details about squash and also as to how it looks :)
about recipes on avacado, asperagus, help yourself with google.you will find tons of them.see your convience and time.
Avacado - A ripe avocado is relatively firm, but will yield to gentle pressure when held in the palm of the hand and squeezed. Color cannot always be trusted to determine whether or not an avocado is ripe. Indeed, the squeeze test is the most accurate.
If you plan to use avocados immediately, buy ripe ones. But if you want to buy them a few days before you plan to use them, you can buy them when they are hard and do not yield to squeezing. Then just set them out in a cool place and wait for them to get ripe. u want them to get em ripe faster? A good trick is to put the avocados in a brown paper bag. Putting an apple in the bag with the avocados speeds the process even more.
Once you do cut into an avocado you want to eat it as quickly as possible. Avocados will quickly brown when exposed to air, even if refrigerated. You can just skim the brown layer from the surface of the avocado and make use of the rest.get smaller fruit so that you dont waste.
6.now about dals.. yes toor dal is gassy thats y i told you give more of moong dal and rice,,and just a sprinkle some toor dal and channa dal in the whole batch.,,try this proportion - 1/4cup of toor dal,1/4th cup of channa dal,1cup of moong dal,1/2massor dal(total will be 2cups of all dals) = 6-8cups of rice..mix this dry mixture/ratio and keep it stored in tight container..cook when required 1tsp right now, at 7months,acc to texture preferred by your lil one..do it with ghee & tadka of hing, curry leaves, some parley flakes or corainder leaves,,or ne other spices with it..this proportion will not be gassy and give your baby all little goodness of dals(proteins),,or give in form of soup(more water or vegetable stock/diluted pureed dal and rice with vegies). if you still think your baby seemed gasy with this proportion just increase 1 cup of rice to the whole batch,,it wont get spoiled too ! so no worries if left in pantry or closet upto 2months in a good air tight container.
nething that you give, give him once a day and then the other day..there is no need for baby to have the same nutrition food whole day.
abt spices, give once in one day, watch for 3-4 days. mild spice like corainder leavs you dont need to test it that long,,its very mild,,continue giving it.also is same with parsley.so give once then if its fine, give another day again and then try it for 3-4 times,,if your baby is sensitive to ne spices, he will show it in a day or couple.but the best time to wait is 4 days ,,a general testing guideline.
now,you want to continue your BM, eat healthy..even when out in restaurant, try to eat things that are cooked nicely/fully cooked or boiled, with least spices, least oils and more things like salads, fresh soups,ne food that has greens like spinach, lots of vegetables or fruits in it,,or pastas in it or whole grain bread/flour stuffs in it...or has yogurt or cream as a base sauce.,,esp yogurt is available everywhere in hotels, esp if you have an indian restaurants around,,it might be in form of raita too....
you cant always live eating on food esp if you are a nursing mother so add in a serving of fat and proteins in your ordering menus.
now that your baby is 7monhts, her diet is not primarily bm but also solids...also understand onething that it all depends alot on baby eating habits and his capacity to absorb all she eats--so waiting too late or a month to start formula might not be a a good idea ! and since your bm supply is good, continue expressing it and giving it to your baby but also add in formula..like let her main feeds be formula, and sometimes bm,,and likewise...still she will be drinking alot of milk until she is 1 year.so give her both & once her weight is good enough, by the time i am sure she will 9mnths, she will eating 2-3 servings of solids and her milk intake will be secondary or and abit less,,so in that case, you can try to avoid formula and give bm or visa versa....so, you be the best judge and decide.
and dont feel bad about nething,,you did and you are doing best upto your limits or reach. thats more than enough for your 7month old. you are a very caring mother and i appreciate your concerns.
Good Luck and njoy your time.
